Thirty-five years ago Thomas began his real estate career with the real estate subsidiary of "The Aetna", at the time the largest financial institution in the country. During his tenure with Aetna, he learned the ins and outs of the annual auditing process of evaluating and valuing all types of real estate projects, including raw land, commercial/industrial property, avocado/citrus properties, recreation properties and large master-planned developments. In this capacity, he traveled throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico and learned first hand valuable experience regarding real estate valuations and markets in different parts of the country.
In 1983, Thomas began a 25 year career in the homebuilding industry, first as the Division President of the national homebuilder, Nash Phillips, Copus and then as President/Owner of his own homebuilding company, Legacy Homes Inc. He garnered first hand experience in acquisition & development, construction financing and permanent financing with many different banks, savings & loans and institutional lenders. Having survived two real estate market downturns, Thomas gained valuable experience working through two bankruptcies of previous employers and the necessary steps for workouts and strategies for disposal of assets and business plans for companies emerging from bankruptcy. He has been active in ALL phases of real estate planning, financing, development and construction, thus possessing an insightful knowledge of real estate valuation.
Thomas' success included operating Legacy Homes for thirteen years where he built and sold over 1000 homes. The business evolved into a land development company, which developed over 5000 lots that were sold to large homebuilders. He is a proven expert in taking land through the entitlement process in most municipal governments in Maricopa County and Casa Grande, Arizona.
He has a B.A. in Business Administration and an MBA from Arizona State University. He has held his Arizona Real Estate Broker's License since 1975.
