Christine Sheehy has more than 30 years working experience in master planning and securing development approvals for numerous projects throughout Arizona. For the past 10 years, Christine has specialized in adding value to client’s real estate investments by taking raw land up to platted lots in addition to obtaining governmental approvals and community support for real estate projects. These services include assisting clients in determining the highest and best uses of land, site and acquisition due diligence, selecting and managing a consultant team and daily project management.
Christine secures the approvals needed to build a successful project in today’s highly regulated environment. Entitlement services include: obtaining all governmental approvals necessary to build a project, which can include rezonings, general plan amendments, plats, State and Federal Permits, land use permits, variances and garnering neighborhood support. She also is an expert in obtaining rights-of-way, leases and land from the Arizona State Land Department. In addition, she has secured rights-of-way through Federal land to gain access to private land.
Ms. Sheehy, enjoyed seven years with the Del Webb Corporation as Director of Land Planning primarily responsible for the daily project management of Anthem a 5,855-acre master planned community in northern metropolitan Phoenix. Later, as part of the executive management team for Dell Webb, constructed and marketed the first phase of Anthem which included an elementary school, 63-acre park, community center, office building, golf course and clubhouse. In 2001, the National Home Builders Association voted Anthem the Best Master Planned Community in America. More than 1400 homes were sold in the first year.
Christine has secured development approval for more than 25,000 acres of land in Arizona. She has obtained approvals to build industrial parks, regional and neighborhood shopping centers, more than 40 telecommunication facilities, office buildings and numerous residential projects including master planned communities. Christine received her national certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners.
Ms. Sheehy has held various positions in both the private and public sectors including the Director of Urban Planning for the Arizona State Land Department; owned her own consulting company; as a land planner for a local architecture firm and worked for the Arizona Governor’s Office of Economic Planning and Development. She received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from Michigan State University with a major emphasis in land planning, design, civil engineering and construction.
Christine has served on numerous boards and commissions throughout the state including: an appointment by Governor Jane Hull to the Working Advisory Committee of the Growing Smarter Commission in 1999; City of Phoenix Peripheral Planning Area D Advisory Committee; City of Phoenix Fiscal Impact Advisory Committee; and the Chairman of the City of Scottsdale Planning Commission. Ms. Sheehy is currently under contract with the City of Phoenix as Hearing Officer for the City of Phoenix and has provided expert witness testimony for real estate cases.
